Management Team & Partners' Meeting

A statewide economic development resource database and the first round reveiw of Small Grant proposals were major topics of the second Management Team and Partners' Meeting of 2004 at Northwestern State University.

First on the agenda was an Internet presentation of the Louisiana Commerce Exchange System (LACES) by Dr. Tony Rozsypal and Dr. Vijay Kanumili of the Center for Business & Information Technology (CBIT) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Offered through CBIT by the Director, Dr. Ramesh Kolluru, LACES is a business directory promoting business-to-business and business-to-customer commerce in Louisiana.  NLPI has established a partnership with CBIT to promote economic growth and development throughout the entire state and to promote the LACES database between north and south Louisiana.

Also discussed during the meeting was the initial round of Small Grants proposals.  After long discussion and careful consideration of each of the 11 submissions, $43,650 in grant funds were approved for distribution.
