Participants will produce test circuit boards in a simulated manufacturing setting. Results of the first simulation round provide the setting for continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing techniques to reduce wastes. Lectures and hands-on simulations introduce techniques that improve key metrics dramatically, including: standardized work, point of use storage, workplace organization, quality at the source, visual controls, set-up reduction, pull systems, and batch size reduction.
