Management Team & Partners' Meeting - September 21, 2004

A new Co-Principal Investigator and two new partners were welcomed to NLPI, and the second round of Small Grant submissions were reviewed during this meeting which was held at Praeses Corporation in downtown Shreveport.

Joining the NLPI team are: new Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Nathan Hutchings, Assistant Professor of Biology at Northwestern State University; new Management Team member and Partner Ross Barrett of Louisiana Ventures, LP; and new Partner Ken McCoy of Trusted Data Solutions, LLC.

The second round of Small Grant Proposals were also discussed.  After careful consideration of each of the nine (9) submissions, $45,000 in grant funds were approved for distribution.

Other issues presented included:

• a brief overview of NLPI's progress in Year One
• a brief review of the NLPI STARS Team Training on August 24, 2004
• a brief overview of the upcoming IP event scheduled for November 11, 2004 at Louisiana Tech University
• an invitation to attend the first annual International Symposium on Interdisciplinary Science at Northwestern State University, October 6-8, 2004
• information concerning Dr. David Tansik of the University of Arizona, NLPI's new External Evaluator
• future sustainability of the NLPI grant
• a brief overview of the upcoming Supply Chain Management Seminar scheduled for October 25, 2004 in the LSUS ballroom
