CERT institutions to announce STARS team leaders and members CERT institutions to announce NLPI STARS team leaders and members this week.
The 11 north Louisiana institutions of higher education and the Biomedical Research Foundation, all part of the North Louisiana Partnership for Innovation (NLPI), will announce the leaders and members of their respective Science and Technology Action Response and Stimulus (STARS) teams this week and plans are underway for an orientation meeting between industry partners and the STARS teams. Two NLPI educational resources, Louisiana Tech University and Northwestern State University, have already defined STARS teams in place.
Louisiana Tech University currently has a STARS team that focuses heavily on technology transfer by actively seeking industry opportunities, reviewing and evaluating research projects for their commercial potential and reporting progress on invention. Northwestern State University also has a STARS team that focuses heavily on the workforce development aspect by actively seeking industry opportunities, reviewing and evaluating research projects for their commercial potential and reporting progress on invention. These two functioning teams will share their experiences at the upcoming STARS Team Orientation Meeting.
