STARS Team Leader Orientation Meeting - January 27, 2004 NLPI began 2004 with a January 27th orientation meeting for leaders and alternate leaders of the newly-formed Science and Technology Action Response and Stimulus (STARS) Teams at LSU in Shreveport.
Representatives from 11 institutions and 2 private industry partners were introduced to the origin and purpose of NLPI, as well as roles and responsibilities of the STARS Teams and, in turn, team leaders/alternate leaders. Group discussion focused on the formation of individual teams, development of team goals and objectives, and communication and support between the teams, the NLPI staff and industry partners.
Other topics presented included the NLPI Small Grants Program, construction and operation of the NLPI website, and the database link to the LA Experts website.
The meeting ended with a presentation of Year One outcomes and next steps to be taken.
